The rooms were spacious, clean, and cozy. The river view was absolutely worth the upgrade. Waking up to that view each morning was one of the highlights of our stay. I’d recommend skipping the prepaid breakfast and instead ordering à la carte once you’re there. A small but appreciated bonus was the ice machine with crushed ice! It may seem like a minor detail but after traveling through Europe, it was such a treat. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely choose Hotel Des Balances again on our next visit to Lucerne.

Aimable ... un peu. Merci pour le bonne nuit (certes ...), le "prompt rétablissement" et la poche de glace. Vous avez l’habitude, on dirait. Elles sont prêtes dans votre armoire en réception. Quant au reste, on dirait des robots, sans grande empathie et qui ne font pas remonter de suite les problèmes survenus la veille aux autres collègues et, pire, à la direction. Aucun geste commercial. Pas un "désolé", pas de "que peut-on faire pour vous ? On peut peut-être vous offrir le petit déjeuner demain matin ?". Rien. De plus, cuisine fermée vers 23h à mon retour des urgences. Vous avez bien un restaurant Michelin, non ? Et, le plat plein de pommes à la réception était sous le nez de votre employé. Il n’a même pas eu la présence d’esprit de nous en offrir; j’ai dû demander !!!

Ich war eher enttäuscht. Zimmer klein und mit zu vielen Möbelstücken. Badezimmer war bei Check-in nicht bereit (das erwarte ich einfach bei dieser Hotelkategorie). TV hatte Störung (auch das sollte nicht passieren). Am Abreisetag klopfte es um 11 Uhr an der Tür. Ich kam gerade aus der Dusche. Mitarbeiter fragte, ob ich Kaffee oder Tee brauche. Warum, wenn man spätestens um 12 Uhr auschecken muss und die Schublade noch vollgepackt ist mit Tee und Kaffee? Das war unnötiger Stress.

Ordering from the menu was available, but the pancakes didn't seem freshly made and more the miro-wave kind. My experience was satisfying but my wive and teenage boys take this rating to average.

Nice clean rooms and we got a high floor as requested. We had two - one for our two teenagers and one for us. Disappointed they had a balcony yet our room did not but the windows opened fully and it was a fantastic view!

The room air conditioner wasn’t working and we were extremely hot. We had two nights of not sleeping that well. They tried to help us out and gave us fans the second night and by the third night the air got cooler after somebody came in and fixed it. They did take a night off of our bill which we were satisfied with. I also thought the quality of all the towels could’ve been a lot better. Everything else was top-notch and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The restaurant was extremely good and we wish we would’ve ate there more than once.

When booking the room, please emphasize very clearly that reservations for the restaurant terrace be made well in advance. Even though we stayed at the hotel for 6 nights it was difficult to secure a table for any night. In the end the hostess was VERY helpful and got us a table on Saturday June 13, thank you!

I loved staying at the suite because the balcony looks absolutely beautiful. The location is also very convenient. But my room was lacking a kettle for me to boil water and I didn’t get any mineral water which is typically expected of a 4 star hotel.
