The location here is the best. Although they were going under construction, it really didn’t affect our stay at all. The staff here are outstanding and very helpful with directions. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Hotel in the heart of old town, Lucerne. The entrance to the hotel is probably the most photographed spot in all of old town. We stayed in a large romantic suite, the balcony and a view of the river highly recommend.

The food is excellent but a little more variation on the vegetarian healthy options is needed! We need more than a salad and a plate of pasta to fulfill our dietary needs if we don’t or can’t eat meat and fish!

Wir haben einen sehr guten Eindruck vom Hotel sowie von dem Restaurant. Wir wollten kein Frühstück zu CHF 35.- pro Person sondern à la card bestellen, was nicht mehr möglich war. Mein Mann hat am Telefon aus versehen mit Frühstück reserviert, was uns sofort auf die Kreditkarte verbucht wurde und nicht mehr möglich war, es zu stornieren. Wir mussten um 8:15h im Kantonspital Augenklinik sein und da wir von Zürich kommmen, haben wir bei euch einen Tag zuvor übernachtet.

Mein Sohn hat leider mit schmutzigen Schuhen im Eingangsbereich unseres Zimmers etwas Dreck hinterlassen. Uns ist bewusst, dass dies durch uns verursacht wurde. Allerdings ist uns aufgefallen, dass dieser Bereich im Rahmen des abendlichen Services (beim Herrichten der Betten) nicht gereinigt wurde. Wir hätten erwartet, dass auch solche Verschmutzungen im Zuge des täglichen Services entfernt werden, sodass der Eingangsbereich wieder sauber ist.

Notre séjour à l'hôtel Balances a été super. Nous ont été upgradé, dans la chambre il y avait un petit cadeaux pour nous, le soir ils nous ont amené quelques chocolats et il y avait bien assez de café. La nourriture dans le restaurant a été également incroyable, l'emplacement et le personel top! Nous reviendrons.

Our overall experience was just great due in large part to the friendliness and eagerness to please of every staff person we encountered. During our stay, we encountered a small issue with replenishing our coffee pods. However, the front desk staff were very accommodating and they took care of things immediately. We also had a much larger issue with air conditioning. Again, the front desk staff were accommodating and sent their engineering staff to investigate. The engineers were very thorough in their assessment and tried numerous approaches to correct the situation. They even contacted the equipment manufactuerer of help in devising a solution. We appreciated the effort that the staff put in for this. Evidently it wasn't just our room, but most rooms on the south side of the building.

The room was as advertised except that construction work was ongoing for the balcony. Certainly the hotel did contact us and offer alternatives just before we arrived. We did appreciate receiving choices. However, this does not warrant a rating of 5 for the room.

Buffet and Price for it OK, if you eat only fruit & yoghurt and 1 glass of juice and 2 Cups of Coffee, than 30 CHF for the a la carte alternative is Crazy! I don’t care about the Money itself, but about the principle. I told you in Our previous Review. Got a reply at that time, you understood, but same issue this time. Our conclusipn is: we try next time another hotel

Food and Service were Both very good. That afterwards a 15CHF was added (but also taken out when I noticed it during Check out) is not OK. If the staff didn’t Like the „only 10 CHF“ I put on the Bill, doesn’t mean that they have to add an amount hoping I would not notice this!
